2023 Birunda, Kitale, Nzoia County, Kenya Making Disciples of Jesus Christ
Wow! What a time we have had in Nzoia County of Kenya which is said to be the food basket of Kenya. I must say it is also the discipleship Basket of Kenya. As much as I haven’t travelled to other parts of Kenya, I must say, the reception here in Birunda was great.
Hosted by a fellow disciple Maker whom we previously met in one of our Disciple Makers Conference in Jinja Uganda by the names Emmanuel Juma, a young man who is sold out to make disciples of Jesus Christ to the end of the world. We got introduced to him by Nathan Zziwa another ardent and dedicated Disciple Maker in and out of season. These are brothers in the faith and vine yard following after Christ Jesus to make Disciples.
We also got introduced to a wonderful family of Disciple Makers in the heart of Birunda. These House Churches are led by and elder fondly called Papa Aggrey by all his Disciples.
Hallelujah, we were blessed to share with them our tools in our arsenal to empower what they are already doing for Jesus The 4Habits (LIFE).
We had a great time of Training, instructing them in how to use these tools Listening to God in Prayer, Inquiring from God through his Word, Fellowshipping with fellow believers weekly and how to do this using 3/3rds Method and Expressing what the Lord has done for us to others by using The 3 Circles method with the Romans Road as reference Scriptures or My Story a 90 Second testimony of How your life was before you met Jesus, How you met Jesus and how your life is now after meeting Jesus and then following with a Care Question.
This was wonderful.
We also did crown it with and outreach session where we go out looking for two things.
- Houses of peace and
- Souls that accept the Lord.
- This is quite an interesting tool in that, as you go out Expressing what the Lord has done in your life, there will be seekers who immediately accept the Lord. These are led to accept the Lord and either invited to a fellowship if there is one nearby or are helped to start one in their Homes.
Secondly, immediately they are encouraged to start making disciples by asking them for their 5 that I call MY5 that some call the OIKOS. This is where the person is asked if he has at least 5 People whom he knows that need what he has just received.
This way, we are helping them to start immediately spreading the Gospel, them becoming ambassadors of Jesus Christ reconciling the World to Jesus Christ. - Secondly, we are if we preach to someone and they are not yet ready, we still ask if they would accept to have a Bible Study at their Homes (House of Peace).
If they accept, then this gives us an opportunity to still reach out to them with the Gospel through our 11 Lesson Fellowship setup. Our 3/3rds Fellowship is structured to help such people to understand their Bible as they read it. This works very well especially among those infiltrated with wrong teaching.
We moved through the villages and combed many corners of the streets of Birunda with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and several people gave their Lives of to the Lord Jesus Christ. Among them are these brothers and Sisters we reached out to.
This is a call that the Lord has for us and we will always endeavor to reach out to the Lost, hurting unchurched, the stuck sheep in the different communities of the World because the instruction is to make Disciples of the world.
