Daily Transformation among Cancer Patients

Sharon, Our Daily Transformation Administrator shared a testimony about sharing with her friend the  Daily Transformation Journal. Be encouraged as you read.

Cancer should not take away the Joy of the Lord

When we had our Site Director’s meeting  meeting, Samuel Alioni encouraged us to start fellowship from our sites and communities. And me, the sites in Jinja are far  from me and I can’t afford transport to go and meet them for fellowship. Before that, I had started a fellowship at church with my Church mates. And then my pastor came in and introduced another program on that very day. So we had to pause that fellowship.

So when they told us to begin fellowship with our sites, and that the site directors have to fellowship with their students. I said, now I have to find another way or another group to fellowship with.  So when I was praying to God and asking him to show me the people to start fellowship with, The Lord led me to one of my friend and she’s a friend to my kids. Most of the times when I’m away, when I’m traveling to town, I take my kids to her. This lady is a cancer victim, though she’s just recovering from cancer. So I went to her and shared with her about our journal and how we journal and how to fellowship. So she picked interest in it and said, I’ll start also journaling.  I told her it’s not only journaling, we can even start having a fellowship. I suggested we first go through the book, as we went through the book with her very fast and at the end she said, let me journal today and tomorrow then I’ll call you back and give you feedback.

After three days, she told me, I also want to start this very fellowship with my, co-patients so she started the group, she has a group, a platform for cancer patients. And she believes the journal can help them in supporting each one of them, not financially, not giving them whatever things they need, but by supporting them spiritually.

She told me that maybe one time  she will take me to those patients, those cancer patients, and we preach to them since i’m not good at preaching, but through this, cause I told her that once you journal like today, you can share what you’ve  journaled to another person. And once that person also picks interest, that person also goes to another person and shares the same.

So we evangelize in that way, that’s our technique. She said, ah, evangelism is easy like this. I will try it. Then she started that fellowship in her  house. She has two of her nieces, the ones they are staying with in the same house. So she started the fellowship. And I also go to follow up on what they discussed in their fellowship and I encourage her, I correct her. So since then,  that’s the fellowship I got. And we are planning one time we shall go to the Cancer Institute in Kampala because that’s where most of the patients are admitted. We will pray with them and we will preach the gospel again, only that we’ve not confirmed  directly when we should go to them. And she also gained strength.

I told her to spread the gospel and she said Now that you’ve given me a weapon to use, I will start by that  and you will be back up for me. So that’s how she’s being strengthened in the Lord, because of that tough situation.

What a beautiful Testimony this is. God is using the Daily Transformation Journal not only to help Churches grow, make disciples of Jesus from work places, stir up the prisoners to Love the Lord. But also Cancer Patients are finding hope through this Journal. Glory to God.
